Event Specifications:

  • Event                                               : Science Act  

  • Theme                                             : To enact a concept based on Scientific principle.

  • Eligibility                                          : Classes 6 to 8

  • Day and Date                                  : Friday, 21 July 2023

  • Type of Event                                   : Team Event

  • Number of Participants                    : 3 Students per team

  • Number of Entries from School       : 1 Team per School

  • Number of Rounds                          :  2

 

Round 1 – Science Act 

 

Rules and Procedures:

  • Participants have to enact any one of the given themes with the aid of props.

  • Team to choose the topic for Science Act at the time of registration.

  • Each team should consist of three students including the narrator.

  • Appropriate props should be used by each team.

  • Each team is permitted to use maximum of 6 props.

  • The time limit for the Science Act is 3 minutes.

  • Brief writeup (50 – 80 words) on the topic selected for Science Act should be mailed to the email id npsyprgoonj@gmail.com by 10th July 2023 .

Judgement criteria:

1. Concurrence of act to the theme

2. Presentation/ Confidence

3. Relevance of props

4. Organisation of ideas/concepts

Round 2 – JAM (Just A Minute- Pick and speak) :

​

Rules and Procedures:

  1. One student per team has to speak on the topic assigned to them.

  2. Student will be given one minute to speak on the topic.

  3. Two minutes of preparation time will be given to the team.

  4. The best 2 teams based on the performance in round 1 and round 2 will be awarded.

  5. Students should speak fluently.

 

Judgement criteria:

  1. Relevance of Science in the topic

  2. Confidence 

  3. Organisation of thoughts

Rules and Procedure for the Event:

  • It is mandatory for the participants to be in school uniform with ID card.

  • Each team has to participate in Round 1 and Round 2.

  • Participants are not allowed to use any gadgets at the venue.

  • All rules and regulations pertaining to the competition will be given on the spot.

  • Participants should strictly adhere to the time limit.

  • Decision of the judges shall be final

  • Last date of Registration is Monday, 10 July 2023.
